Virginia Department for the Aging - VDA's mission is to help older Virginians live as independently as possible, with the appropriate services in place to maintain their dignity and security.  Their web site supports this mission by providing information that older citizens and their families can use in making important decisions about their lives and their loved ones. 

 

SeniorNavigator.com™ is a unique Internet guidebook for Virginia’s seniors, their families, and caregivers. It is designed to be a “one-stop-shop” for all the information they need to understand a particular illness PLUS find accurate, in-depth details about local services and providers.

Virginia Easy Access is a website developed for seniors, adults with disabilities, their caregivers and the providers that support them.  Virginia Easy Access is full of helpful information about services and supports that are available across the Commonwealth.  Virginia Easy Access is the gateway to the VirginiaNavigator provider database.  The provider database will help people find local services and supports.

The National Council on the Aging - NCOA is the nation's first association of organizations and professionals dedicated to promoting the dignity, self-determination, well being, and contributions of older persons.

U.S. Department of Health and Human Services - The Department of Health and Human Services is the United States government's principal agency for protecting the health of all Americans and providing essential human services, especially for those who are least able to help themselves.

 

Administration on Aging - Information designed for Older Americans and their families as well as those concerned about providing the opportunities and services to enrich the lives of older persons and support their independence.

 

American Association of Retired Persons - The nation's leading organization for people age 50 and older. It serves their needs and interests through information and education, advocacy, and community services, which are provided by a network of local chapters and experienced volunteers throughout the country.

 

Mayo Health Oasis - The only Web site that gives you access to the experience and knowledge of the more than 2,000 physicians and scientists of the Mayo Clinic. Helps people find the answers and the support they need to manage illness and stay healthy.

 

AgeNet - AgeNet is an information and referral network designed to "Bridge the Distance" between aging parents and adult children. It provides information about products and services that are important to enhancing the quality of life of older adults and their families.

 

Medicare - The official federal Medicare website, with useful information for people with Medicare and anyone involved in helping them with their health care decisions. The site provides customized comparative information about Medicare+Choice plans, nursing homes, supplemental insurance policies for people with Medicare, local events where Medicare is the topic, and resources for additional information.

 

The Official U.S. Government Site for Medicare Information - Medicare.gov is the official U.S. Government Internet site for Medicare consumer information. It is designed with the beneficiary in mind to provide people with Medicare with up-to-date health and insurance information. The Health Care Financing Administration, the agency that administers Medicare, created Medicare.gov in the spring of 1998.

 

We Media - This web site is temporarily off line.  Hopefully it will be back soon.  We Media's mission is to empower persons  with disabilities, their families and friends by being a conduit for education, knowledge, technology, entertainment, and numerous other services in an exciting, convenient, and accessible fashion.

 

The National Resource Center on Aging and Injury - The mission of The National Resource Center on Aging and Injury is to apply state-of-the-art technology to increase awareness, and to collect, organize, and evaluate information about preventing unintentional injuries among older Americans. The information is provided to older adults, caregivers, health care practitioners, policy makers, and other people concerned about reducing injuries among older Americans.
