Mountain Empire Older Citizens’ Elder Rights and Security Services links people to services that provides a safety net to help people remain in their own homes and communities. For people 60 years of age or older, this includes assistance with emergency home heating needs during the winter months. It also assists Medicare and Medicaid recipients with coverage and billing issues and fraud prevention within the Medicare and Medicaid programs.  For adults of all ages this includes a personal emergency response system, help to access free medications from pharmaceutical companies and Public Guardianship. The Elder Rights and Security Services unit also provides Long-term Care Ombudsman service to nursing home residents and their family members.
