unnecessary and/or inappropriate institutionalization of older persons by:
the development and maintenance of comprehensive user-friendly community
based long term care services in Lee, Wise, Scott Counties, and the City
of Norton; recognizing that families provide the bulk of care for older
people and then developing a user-friendly comprehensive infrastructure to
support family caregivers; and by serving as an active and responsible
advocate on issues effecting older persons.

intergenerational programming and is devoted to developing programs
utilizing the talents and skills of both the young and the old in service
to each other and by supporting relatives caring for children other than
their own.

Thus, MEOC emphasizes wellness and health promotion as part of its mission
